Teachings on Buddhism and Meditation: Missoula
Mondays: 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Join David Curtis each week in Missoula for Tibetan Buddhist teaching and meditation. By gently applying ancient Buddhist perspectives and techniques to our busy daily lives, we can gradually transform ourselves and our relationships in every aspect of life.
Beginning with a recitation of Tibetan texts and a brief guided meditation, David will continue his series of teachings on the book Meditation in Action. We’ll read and discuss the chapter on patience, which is the third of the Six Perfections. In Buddhism we combine patience with clarity. This is basis developing open heartedness and the foundation for the practice of meditation.

Our Tuesday Morning Meditation includes recitation and meditation, as well as reading and discussion of The Fragrance of Emptiness, A Commentary on the Heart Sutra, by Anam Thubten. The Heart Sutra is probably the most important book in Buddhism. And in this commentary on it Anam Thubten in his characteristic manner very clearly explains many of its most important ideas.
